Do I Have to Subscribe to Change My Location?

Overview

Changing location within the Buy Nothing app is available to all users. A Subscription is not required to update or change where participation occurs.

Changing Location (Free Feature)

All participants can manually change their location at any time.

To change location:

1. Go to the Settings page in the app
2. Select Locations and tap the edit icon on your location
3. Enter a new address

This allows participation from different places as needed, without a subscription.

How Subscription Is Different

The difference between free access and a subscription is convenience, not access.

Subscribers can:

• Save up to five locations
• Quickly switch between saved locations (e.g., home, work, travel)
• Avoid re-entering locations manually

Free Access

Participants using the free version can still change location whenever needed by entering it manually each time.

The Buy Nothing Project app is designed so that core participation features—including location changes—remain available to everyone.

Summary

A Subscription is not required to change location. All users can manually update their location at any time, while Sustaining Members benefit from the convenience of saving and quickly switching between multiple locations.
