Why Haven’t I Been Approved to My Buy Nothing Facebook Group?

If you’ve requested to join a local Buy Nothing Facebook group but haven’t been approved yet, we understand how frustrating that can feel. While we wish we could help directly, the approval process is managed entirely by local volunteer administrators.
Why This Happens
- Each Buy Nothing Facebook group is run independently by local admins
- Approval timing varies based on admin availability
- The Buy Nothing Project does not manage Facebook group membership and cannot add members to groups
What You Can Do

If you believe a group is inactive or not approving members, you may submit a report for review:
