We’re sorry to hear that your experience with a local Buy Nothing Facebook group admin has been frustrating. That can be disheartening, especially when the goal is to build connection and generosity within a community.
Our Role With Facebook Groups
We want to be transparent: Buy Nothing Facebook groups are managed independently by local volunteer admins. The Buy Nothing Project is not involved in the day-to-day moderation of these groups and cannot intervene in individual admin decisions or disputes.
What We Can Provide
- Guidance and resources for admins through our published Guidelines and Community Commitment
- Education and reminders about inclusive and community-centered practices
However, we’re unable to enforce standards or take direct action within locally managed Facebook groups.
If You’d Like to Report a Group
If you believe an admin’s conduct seriously conflicts with Buy Nothing guidelines or the spirit of the movement, you may submit a report for review.
