Facebook Group Limitations
Many Buy Nothing Facebook groups limit participation to one group at a time. These rules are set and enforced by local volunteer admins, and policies can vary from group to group. Because Facebook groups are managed independently, the Buy Nothing Project cannot override or standardize those restrictions.
A More Flexible Option: The Buy Nothing App
The Buy Nothing web and mobile platform is designed to support people who live, work, or spend time in more than one place.
On the app, participants can:
- Set a primary home location
- Add and switch between additional locations (such as work, family homes, second homes, or travel destinations)
- Share from wherever they are without being limited to a single group
