We understand how frustrating it can be when you’re eager to participate but don’t fall neatly within a local group’s defined boundaries.
Why This Happens
Many Buy Nothing Facebook groups use geographic boundaries that are set and enforced by local volunteer admins. While the Buy Nothing Project encourages flexibility—such as removing strict boundaries or “one group only” rules—these decisions are ultimately made by each independently managed group.
Because of this, we’re unable to override boundary rules or add members outside of a group’s defined area.
