I Just Subscribed and Paid via Stripe but Want a Refund

Overview

The Buy Nothing app is free to use for everyone. Subscriptions are optional and are offered through the Sustaining Member program for those who choose to support the platform and unlock additional features.

Understanding Sustaining Membership

Sustaining Members contribute to the ongoing health of the platform, including maintenance, development, and community support. Subscriptions are not required to participate in Buy Nothing.

Subscription Cancellation

If a subscription was started through the web app (processed via Stripe) and a cancellation is requested, the subscription can be canceled so that it does not renew.

Cancellation stops future charges but does not change access to the free features of the platform.

Refunds

Subscription charges are generally non-refundable. Access to Sustaining Member features remains available through the end of the current billing period after cancellation.

This approach supports the community-funded model of the Buy Nothing Project while keeping the core platform free and accessible to all.
